Alex and Natalie’s Engagement Session in Tampa, Florida

Florida is known as the sunshine state for good reason! It has so much bright energy, which is amazing to capture as a photographer. What makes it even more wonderful is when the scenery is matched by subjects who radiate so much of their own light, which brings me to the couple in this shoot!

Recently, I had the pleasure of photographing Alex and Natalie, a couple who live and breathe Tampa. I took on the responsibility of making sure that every aspect of their shoot celebrated their love for each other and their beloved city.

A Gorgeous Walk Through Curtis Hixon Park

Our first stop for photos was Curtis Hixon Park, a popular spot that offered a gorgeous green backdrop against the skyline of Tampa. With gorgeous trees and bushes next to silhouettes of the city’s buildings, the park was definitely a lively and engaging setting for capturing candid moments between Alex and Natalie.

I’ve always loved capturing couples in their hometowns for that reason: they feel so comfortable in front of the camera in a familiar setting. Their love for each other shone through in every smile, every laugh, and every affectionate glance!

Iconic Moments At The Tampa Theatre

No Tampa engagement shoot would be complete without a visit to the Tampa Theatre, with its iconic sign, a beloved landmark of the city. Alex and Natalie posed in front of the theatre, their joy and excitement perfectly matching the energy of the sign behind them.

Celebrating Tampa’s Artistic Spirit

Alex and Natalie wanted their engagement photos to reflect not just their love for each other but also their love for Tampa. To this end, we made sure to include some of Tampa’s famous wall murals in our photo session.

Some of the beautiful murals we captured included the Tampa Bay Lightning mural, the City of Tampa welcome mural, and a beautiful (and appropriate) mural that simply read “All For Love.”

Everyone was feeling the joy of this location! We even had family and friends join in briefly, and I got some quality shots of them celebrating their own love underneath the welcome mural.

Back To The Beginning 

After capturing the essence of Tampa through various locations, it was time to revisit the place where it all began—the Gin Joint, where they shared their first date! This charming spot quickly became a significant part of their relationship, so much so that they revisited it after their engagement to relive those magical first moments.

Their emotional connection to the restaurant, as well as the gorgeous appearance of the signage and building, made for some incredible shots.

A Celebration of Love and Tampa

Alex and Natalie’s engagement shoot was more than just a celebration of their love for each other; it was a celebration of their love for Tampa!

Every location, every photo, and every moment was filled with the energy and light of the city they call home. It was an honor to capture these memories and be part of their incredible journey!
